In Colegio Alkor, we celebrated the ancient holiday tradition of Boxing Day. During Boxing Day, our Native Language Assistants ran an activity highlighting the importance of Boxing Day and teaching the children about the culture and history of this very event.
We prepared a poster board demonstrating key information about Boxing Day, and brought classrooms in groups to the poster board where Native Language Assistants explained the information. The Language Assistants asked questions to the students about the holiday season and shared stories about Boxing Day, while also highlighting the key traditions and explaining how people celebrate in different countries.

This lesson helped students understand the culture of the United Kingdom and Australia, while also integrating English skills with creativity. The children learned a lot, and also received hands-on learning about Boxing Day and what it means to help the less fortunate.
En el Colegio Alkor celebramos la tradición del Boxing Day. Durante este día, nuestros asistentes nativos llevaron a cabo una actividad subrayada por la importancia del Boxing Day y la enseñanza a los niños de la cultura y la historia de este evento.
Preparamos un poster con la información clave sobre este día y por clases fuimos a verlo, donde los asistentes nativos explicaron la información e hicieron preguntas a los alumnos sobre la celebración y compartieron historias sobre el Boxing Day, mientras se ensalzaban los puntos clave de la tradición y se explicaba cómo la gente celebra este día en diferentes países.

Esta actividad ayudó a los alumnos a comprender la cultura del Reino Unido y Australia, a la vez que integraban distintas habilidades del inglés a través de la creatividad. Los niños aprendieron mucho y además recibieron un profundo aprendizaje sobre el Boxing Day y sobre lo que significa ayudar a las personas más desfavorecidas.
