Carnival

We began the first week of february celebrating Carnival. The children in age groups 3 to 5 each participated in a carnival theme activity. The three year olds created their own links to make a paper chain which decorated the area where we had our Carnival celebration! The four year olds made pennant banners with all different types of colors and designs. The five year olds designed their own carnival masks and decorated them elaborately with foil and glitter.

Empezábamos el mes de febrero celebrando ¡Carnaval! Los alumnos participaron en una actividad de Carnaval y crearon decoraciones para el aula. Los alumnos de 3 años crearon una “cadena” de papel que decoraba el aula donde tuvimos nuestra celebración de Carnaval. Los niños de 4 años hicieron un banderín con muchos colores y diseños diferentes. Los alumnos de 5 años diseñaron máscaras de Carnaval y las decoraron con purpurina.

Transportation

This month they also learned about different modes of transportation. The vocabulary for the unit was boat, car, plane, bus, and train. The students practiced “driving” or “flying” around the room to remember the different vocabulary words and also did a fun dance to the song “The Wheels on the Bus.”

Este mes, también aprendimos  el vocabulario de transportes boat (barca), car (coche), airplane (avión), bus (autobús), y train (tren). Los alumnos ensayaron “conduciendo” y “volando” en el aula para recordar las palabras de vocabulario. También  bailaron la canción “The Wheels on the Bus.”

Valentine’s Day

For Valentine’s Day, we celebrated by dancing, singing, and playing games centered on friendship! They learned the importance of being nice to their friends, loving their families, and treating everyone with kindness. The teachers put on a special theatre for the students and the students were able to sing and dance to songs as well as play Valentine’s Day games.

Para San Valentín, celebramos la amistad a través de bailes, canciones y juegos. Aprendieron la importancia de ser amable con sus amigos, su familia y otros. Las profes hicieron un teatro para los alumnos con canciones, bailes  y juegos sobre Día de San Valentín.
