Nuestros alumnos de cuarto de primaria están intercambiando scrapbooks y cartas con alumnos del Colegio Hagen Road Elementary, situado en Boynton Beach, Florida.
Hagen Road es una de las mejores escuelas del distrito escolar de Palm Beach County, tiene Dual Language program que es un programa de inmersión lingüística inglés-español, y también giftedprogram, que es un programa para niños superdotados.

Es una escuela muy innovadora que apuesta por nuevas tendencias, como el flexible seating que consiste en utilizar asientos distintos a las tradicionales sillas y mesas, como fitballs (pelotas de Pilates), discos hinchables, o sillas que se tambalean (wobblechairs) entre otros; o la inclusión de técnicas de enseñanza en la clase a través de rotaciones y trabajo independiente del alumno o en colaboración con compañeros.
Están muy contentos de colaborar con un colegio de élite en la comunidad de Madrid como es el Colegio Alkor. El año pasado ya hicimos un intercambio que fue un éxito, y este año promete serlo también.
Los niños de Hagen recibieron nuestras cartas después de las vacaciones de navidad, y ya están manos a la obra para respondernos. ¡Estamos deseando leer sus cartas!
Florida Friendships
Our 4th grade students are exchanging scrapbooks and letters with students from Hagen Road Elementary School, located in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Hagen Road Elementary is one of the best schools in the School District of Palm Beach country. They have Dual Language program that is a bilingual immersion program Spanish-English. They also have a gifted program to work with gifted kids.

It is a very innovative school that goes for a different teaching style. Many of the classrooms have flexible seating that consists on having seats from the students different from the traditional desks and chairs, such as fit balls, inflatable discs, wobble chairs, etc. They also include innovative teaching techniques in class, through rotations, independent student work and working with a partner.
They are very happy to work with an elite school from the Community of de Madrid as our school,Alkor. Last year we also did a letter Exchange that was a total success, and this year has all the makings of being the same!
The students at Hagen got our letters right after the Christmas break, and they are already all hands on to respond as soon as they can. We can’t wait to read them!!!
